One day, Mom and Dad told
Max and me that we were going to go on a big adventure, and I knew it had
to be something good because the next thing I knew, here came the leashes
- and not just the regular ones, but the L-O-N-G ones! Oh boy... something
REALLY good was about to happen.
I guess now is the time I need to mention that "other"
guy that lives here. His name is Max and he's my big brother. He's okay...
I guess. He must be *real* old because he sleeps alot.
The Boys
Next, we got in the jeep and off we went for a ride. Wait a minute... since when does a ride in the back of the jeep need a L-O-N-G leash? What else is going to happen to us today? I knew it must be something good because Max wasn't even getting sleepy.
All of a sudden, we stopped.
Wait a minute, there isn't anything fun around here... just some bushes and
trees and water and...

Reggie finds the water
Max finds a scent to follow
It must have been a good
day for Mom too, because she kept singing
and they ran through the brambles
And they ran through the bushes
where a rabbit couldn't go.
They ran so fast that the hounds
couldn't catch 'em on
down the Mississippi
to the Gulf of Mexico.
.... sure beats that infernal, "Do your ears hang low, do they wobble to and fro..."
